ERIE —
Eugene “Gene” E. Zerfoss, 56, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in Erie, of natural causes.
A graduate of Conneaut Lake High School and the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla., he worked for 27 years for Delta Airlines as a ticketing and gate agent, most recently in Orlando. He earned a private pilot’s license at the Erie airport.
Gene greatly enjoyed the beach in Florida, boating on Conneaut Lake with his many longtime friends, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Joan Zerfoss; and his niece, Chelsey O’Neill.
He is survived by his sisters, Nancy O’Neill of Erie, Judy McFadden and Melody Gaeta (Michael) of Boston, Mass., and Jill Grim (Robert) of Hendersonville, Tenn.; nephews, Brady and Casey O’Neill and Alex and Brian Grim; and two nieces, Judy and Shannon O’Neill.
Private services for family and close friends will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St. at Greengarden Boulevard in Erie.
