CONNEAUTVILLE —
Juliann (Judy) Basile, 90, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneautville, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born in Soldier on Feb. 20, 1922, a daughter of John and Mary Hososky Bedick. She grew up in Utica and after marrying Louis Basile, she moved to Cochranton, where she lived until her move to Rolling Fields. She subsequently married Lloyd Noblit in 1973; and he preceded her in death in 2007.
In her younger years, Judy worked at the American Viscose Corp. in Meadville. She also worked as a waitress at Kerr’s Town and Country Restaurant and Ward’s Restaurant in Cochranton. She loved children and baby-sat for many Cochranton families over the years. Judy was a fun loving person with a great sense of humor. She was accomplished in needlecraft and won many blue ribbons in regional fairs for her embroidery. She loved to travel, especially to Oregon many times to visit her sister, Mary. She loved music and loved to sing. But, most of all, she loved being with her family. Judy enjoyed the residents and staff at Rolling Fields and her family wishes to thank all who cared for her so lovingly while she was there.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Dudek and her husband, Barry, of Meadville; her son, Bill Basile and his wife, Marianne, of Carlisle; a daughter-in-law, Karen Basile of Cochranton; six grandchildren, Lisa Ebbert, Wendy Basile, Ryan Dudek, Justin Dudek, Adrienne Basile and Marc Feeser; four great-grandsons, Cody and Kyle Ebbert, Jaxon Basile and Zander Hartman; nine nieces and a nephew; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by a son, John Basile; two brothers, John and William Bedick; and two sisters, Margaret Danko and Mary Paul.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1128 State St., No. 301, Erie, Pa. 16501.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dickson Family Funeral Home, 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton., with a memorial service following at 7 p.m., with David Derby officiating.
