WASHINGTON, N.C. —
James J. Caldwell, 85, of Washington, N.C., and formerly of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.
He was born March 29, 1927, in Franklin, a son of Henry Caldwell and Mary Jewel. He married Sabine L. Sweikowski; she preceded him in death.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was employed as a welder with General American Transportation.
James is survived by two daughters, Janae Voisard and Karen Kohler, both of North Carolina; a son, Steven Caldwell of Franklin; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, James was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Nellie Mattern.
There will be no calling hours or services.
Entombment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.
Arrangements are under the care of Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
