Craig (Mickey/Cico) M. Stevens

MEADVILLE — Craig (Mickey/Cico) M. Stevens, 63, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born April 7, 1949, in Pittsburgh, a son of James L. Stevens and Gladys Jane Hill Stevens. He married Catherine Schreck on Aug. 13, 1994; she survives.

He was a high school graduate and served his country with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Leary DDR 879 during the Vietnam War, from June 6, 1968, to Feb. 20, 1970.

Craig was employed by the Coca-Cola Company for 25 years and retired from Heatrex on May 27, 2011.

He was of the Catholic faith and attended Saint Mary of Grace Church.

Craig loved being around people of all ages and had many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle, gardening, watching his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, singing karaoke, and he loved his dogs, Dystany and Clancey.

He was also active in many different organizations in the community, those being: life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 and an active member in Color Guard, life member of Saegertown American Legion Post 205, American Legion Post 111 Legion Riders, West Mead Firehall, Italian Civic Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Meadville Aerie 429, and Vietnam Vets Post 52.

In addition to his loving wife, Catherine, of 18 years, he is survived by a daughter, Tanya C. Newsome and her husband, Damon, of Meadville; a granddaughter, Lanaya Newsome of Meadville; three brothers, Jim Stevens and his wife, Linda, of Heidelburg, Dave Stevens of Carnegie, and Larry Stevens and his wife, Darby, of Oceanside, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Patti Stevens; both paternal and maternal grandparents; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fidelia and Lawrence Schreck.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. A prayer vigil service will be held at 3 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at Saint Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Father Marc Solomon, pastor, as celebrant.

The committal service and burial will follow at Saint Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Township.

Memorial donations may be made in Craig’s Memory to American Legion Post 111, Legion Rides, 17137 Cussewago Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335; VFW Post 2006 Color Guard, 1045 S. Morgan St., Meadville, Pa. 16335; or Crawford County Human Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335.
