WARREN —
Joseph Petrick of Warren, formerly of Cambridge Springs, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012.
Joe was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Homestead, to Nickolas and Anna Czupinka Petrick.
In 1987, after 27 years of service, Joseph retired from General Electric in Erie. He loved being outdoors. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and pitching horseshoes. He also enjoyed farming, which is something he did his entire life.
Joseph spent several years serving as an elder with the Cambridge Springs Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He loved the door-to-door ministry and enjoyed sharing his Bible-based hope of a resurrection of the dead with all he met. (John 5:28)
He was survived by Ermaleta Rosebrook Petrick, his wife of seven years, who cared for him until his death; five sons, John of Meadville, Joseph (Linda) of Waterford, Gary (Eve) of Cambridge Springs, Dale (Sandra) of Venango and Steven of Cambridge Springs; three stepsons, Timothy (Theresa) Lascola of Warren, Anthony Lascola of Arkansas and Mark (Darlene) Lascola of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Nick, and a sister, Martha. He had 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a worldwide family of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marion (King); and two brothers, John and Michael; as well as three sisters, Mary, Helen and Anna.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 414 McClellan St., Cambridge Springs, at 1 p.m. Saturday. Timothy Lascola, an elder with the Warren Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, will be officiating.
Interment will be private.
Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St., Warren, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
