MEADVILLE —
Clara Kathryn Leonard, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
She was born June 5, 1927, in Reynoldsville, daughter of the late Herbert and Emma Feicht Leonard. She had lived in Erie most of her life.
Kathryn had a full and happy life. She was a wonderful, loving person who always had a smile and a kind word. She was very special to her brothers and sisters and all of their children. She touched the hearts of all who met her. Kathryn loved to embroider, sew, color and do jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Tenth Street United Methodist Church for more than 60 years and was very active, along with her mother, in teaching children’s Sunday school.
Two years ago, Kathryn retired to Wesbury along with her sister and brother-in-law. She enjoyed the company of the residents and wonderful nursing staff at Wesbury’s Grace Health Center. The family wishes to thank all who so tenderly helped with her care.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Edwin Leonard and Richard Matthew Leonard; her sister, Edith Jean Ace; her nephew, David Leonard; and her niece, Robin Carroll Willats. Kathryn is survived by her loving sister, Marie, and husband, the Rev. Robert Carroll; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who loved her dearly.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home Inc. East, 2607 Buffalo Road, Erie, today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. John Scott.
Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, 31 North Park Ave., Meadville, Pa., 16335; or Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa., 16335.
