CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS — Edythe J. Buell, 81, of Bartlett Gardens Apartments, Cambridge Springs, and formerly of Corry, died at her home on Sunday, July 8, 2012.

She was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Olean, N.Y., a daughter of the late Henry Roden and Bertha PeQueen Roden Beers.

Edythe moved to Corry with her family as a young girl where she was raised and educated. She had attended Corry High School. Following her marriage to Adrian R. Buell on Oct. 4, 1947, in Corry, her main priority was raising and caring for her family. Edythe had lived in the Cambridge Springs area since 1997, and from 1998 to 2005, she managed the Bartlett Gardens Apartments there.

She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Cambridge Springs and she enjoyed making ceramics.

In addition to her parents, Edythe was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Buell, on July 20, 2011; a son, David Buell; a sister, Beverly PeQueen; two brothers, Richard and James Roden; and a grandson, Michael Fargo.

Edythe is survived by two daughters, Susan D. Davis and her husband, Larry, of Clymer, N.Y., and Jean D. Deist and her husband, Carl, of Union City; a sister, Yvonne Brandt and her husband, Robert, of Madison, Ohio; a brother, Robert E. Roden and his wife, Anne, of Corry; five grandchildren, Tami and her husband, Ralph, Michelle and her husband, Ed, Lissa and her husband, Bill, David Jr. and his wife, Patti, and Derek and his wife, Mary; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.

There will be no visitation.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 233 Church St., Cambridge Springs, on July 21 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Nigel Propert will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 310 N. Monroe St., Titusville, Pa., 16354.
