COOPERSTOWN — Dave Winger, 57, of Sunville Road, Cooperstown, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at his residence.

Born Jan. 4, 1955, in Franklin, he was a son of the late John Albert (Jack) and Betty May Simpson Winger.

Mr. Winger worked as a supervisor for Hanna Transfer. He was a member of AA, where he was instrumental in helping many others. He also enjoyed gambling and playing cards, particularly Black Jack.

Dave is survived by his two brothers, Michael E. Winger and his wife, Amy, of Polk, and John Wayne Winger and his wife, Angie, of Henry’s Bend; his four sisters, Mary Jane (Janie) Buchanon and her husband, Dan, of Meadville, Betty Jean (Jeanie) Kramer and her husband, Frank, of Meadville, Diana Lee (Diane) Vann and her companion, Jim, of Conneaut Lake, and Beverly Ann (Bev) Heller and her husband, Frank, of Franklin; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and his two dogs, Boo and Dottie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-niece Ashley Webber.

Friends will be received at Gardiner Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. William J. Maher, MDiv, officiating.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Venango County Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Association.
