MARIETTA, Ga. — Robert Eugene Templeton died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain Hospice in Marietta, Ga.

Robert was born June 12, 1924, in Olmstead Falls, Ohio.

He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1942 and received a bachelor of arts degree from Western Reserve University in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1943 to 1946 in the Rhineland and Central Europe.

In 1950 he married Jeanne Dexter in Lakewood, Ohio, and was the parent of two daughters, Deborah (Jerry) Greil of Marietta and Anne Romano (Joseph) of Houston, Texas. He was the grandfather of Taylor and Brian Greil and Joey, Regina and Natalie Romano.

He retired from Regal-Beloit Tool Company as sales manager in 1995. He was a member of the noontime Rotary Club and served in the soup kitchen. He was a resident of 445 Orchard Place, Meadville, from 2000 to 2011.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mayes-Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, 180 Church St., Marietta.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Center for Family Services, 213 W. Center St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.

Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory in Marietta (mayeswarddobbins.com) will be in charge of the arrangements.
