Janice Faith (Janie) Soros-Shirey was stillborn surrounded by family on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at 9:47 p.m. at Lancaster General Health Women and Babies Hospital.
“Our little angel liked to make her mother crave milk shakes, french fries and apples. She tapped her foot to music, especially Elvis. And enjoyed ‘talking’ to her big brother, Aaron. She had dark curly hair, perfect bow-shaped lips, her father’s hands, her mother’s toes and her big-sister Rosalie’s nose. Her mother was very grateful that she spent Christmas with the family — her siblings wished her a Merry Christmas and asked their mother to open her gifts. Janie was wanted — and loved — by all of her family and will be greatly missed.”
Janie was born to Zachary Joseph Shirey and Sabrina Rae Soros-Kareha of Gap. Also surviving are a sister, Rosalie Alexis Kareha at home; two brothers, Aaron Matthew Kareha at home and Eric Shirey of Leetonia, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Melanie Thompson-Soros of Conneaut Lake, George Soros of Greenville and Krag Williams of Florida; paternal grandparents, William Shirey of Columbiana, Ohio, and Laura Shirey and her partner, Bruce Birkner, of Greenville; maternal great-grandparents, Frank Thompson and his wife, Myrna, of Hartstown, and Magdolnia Soros of Greenville; paternal great-grandparents, Lloyd Mullen and his wife, Evelyn, of Jamestown, and Robert Shirey Sr. and his wife, Rosalie, of Liverpool, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a maternal great-grandmother, Janice Marie Durst-Thompson-Snyder; a maternal great-grandfather, Paul P. Soros; and a great aunt, Jenny Violet Thompson.
All services are private and are under the direction of Osborne-Williams Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 73-75 Columbia Ave. Greenville, Pa. 16125.
