JAMESTOWN —
Carmella Pomponio, 91, of 4346 Park Manor Drive, West Shenango Township, Jamestown, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 4, 2013, in her residence.
She was born in Greenville on April 30, 1921, a daughter of Nicholas Guerrini and Antoinette Delett Guerrini. She married John R. Pomponio Sr. on Oct. 25, 1941; he passed away on Dec. 30, 2003.
Carmella was a 1939 graduate of Penn High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, cooking, crafts and gardening.
She was a member of St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, Jamestown, where she had been active with the Women’s Guild.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Leguard and her husband, John, of Jamestown; two brothers, Robert Guerrini and his wife, Arlene, of Pinelas Park, Fla., and Richard Guerrini and his wife, Carolyn, of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Ann Hrivnak of New York, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Tracy Price and her husband, Rick of Cochranton, Michael Pomponio and his wife, Annette, of Greenville, and Ronald Brown of Conneaut Lake; six great-grandchildren, Kara Allen, Joseph Pomponio, Andrea Manko, Amber Gordon, Lea Brown and Rebecca Brown; and five great-great-grandchildren, Zoe Allen, Ava Allen, Trenton Gordon, Hunter Gordon and Skylar Richards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, John R. (Jack) Pomponio Jr.; and two brothers, James Guerrini and Carl Guerrini.
Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, with the Rev. Christopher Barnes, parochial vicar of St. Michael’s, as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Greenville.
