LONGMONT, Colo. —
Laura Suzanne “Sue” Stewart Mika of Longmont, Colo., passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013.
Born June 8, 1937, in Meadville, to Irene Shellito Stewart and Robert Stewart, Sue is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Regis Andrew Mika; her children, Jenny Mika Martenson (Roger), Ron Mika and Sandy Mika Swift (Padraic); and her grandchildren, Jack Padraic Swift and Samuel Mika Swift. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley King and Jane McDermott; brother, Fred Stewart; sister-in-law, Dorothy Stewart; and brother-in-law, Fred Tyers.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Shellito Stewart; father, Robert Stewart; brother, Jim Stewart; sisters-in-law, Jean Tyers and Joann Mika; and brothers-in-law, Phillip McDermott, Fred King and Steve Mika.
She grew up in Linesville, graduated from Linesville High School in 1955 and received her secretarial certificate from Grove City College in 1957. She married Regis Andrew Mika on June 28, 1958, and moved to Longmont in 1966.
Sue loved to travel, and her happiest moments were spent with her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, loving and thoughtful ways, and her fun passion for life.
A memorial to celebrate her will be held at a future date to be announced.
