Belva Mae Moore Lawrence


Belva Mae Moore Lawrence, 89, of Meadville, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Homestead Hearth, Centerville.

She was born in Meadville on Dec. 6, 1919, a daughter of O.R. Moore and Minnie Rhoades Moore. She married Marion Poland; he preceded her in death. Then she married Harold Crist; he preceded her in death. She then married Kermit Lawrence, who also preceded her in death.

She worked at Talon, Palmer Brothers and Cribbs Methodist Home before it was Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Poland and his companion, Martha, of Meadville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Earl Moore of Conneaut Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bertha Proudfoot and Alice Peters; six brothers Clyde Moore, Claire Moore, Carl Moore, Orren Moore, Clarence Moore and Wilson Moore; and a grandson, Jeffrey Poland.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Geneva Memorial Cemetery.
