CONNEAUTVILLE —
Robert L. Dillaman, 84, of Conneautville, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Rolling Fields.
He was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Meadville, a son of George W. and Mildred Graham Dillaman. He first married Rita Foster; she preceded him in death along with their infant daughter Sharon, during child birth. He subsequently married Donna R. Burns on July 15, 1950; she survives.
He and his brother, Max, started, owned and operated Dillaman Brothers Auto Body, and he retired in January 1995.
He was a 1946 graduate of Meadville High School and the Vocational Technical School.
He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard Co. B from 1948-50. He was a member for 50 years of Masonic Lodge 408 of Meadville, Scottish Rite Bodies of New Castle, Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie; member and past commander of the Legion of Honor; member and past monarch of Kismet Grotto of Meadville; member, past president and past treasurer of Crawford County Shrine Club; 25-year member of the Royal Order of Jesters; and member of Elks Lodge 219 of Meadville. He also was a former district administrator for Districts 1 and 3 of Little League baseball and he was past president of the Hayfield Athletic Association.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Donna, of 62 years, include four sons, Ronald Dillaman and his wife, Bonnie, of Saegertown, William Dillaman and his wife, Kay, of Arvada, Colo., Steven Dillaman and his wife, Shirley, of New Kent, Va., and Jeffery Dillaman of Conneautville; nine grandchildren, Chad Dillaman and his wife, Sarah, Stacy Braswell and her husband, Neil, June Deeter and her husband, Corey, Erin Dillaman, Elizabeth Dillaman, Katherine Dillaman, Nicole Tribble and her husband, Brian, Kyle Dillaman and his wife, Crystal, and Tyler Dillaman and his wife Alyssa; 10 great-grandchildren, Austin, Braswell, Noah Braswell, Brendan Deeter, Codey Deeter, Cameron Deeter, Isiah Hindman, James Tribble, Steven Tribble, Bailey Dillaman and Kenzie Dillaman; a sister, Rachael Weibel of Meadville; two brothers, Max Dillaman and his wife, Florence, of Meadville, and Richard Dillaman and his wife, Christine, of Simons Island, Ga.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, first wife Rita, and infant daughter Sharon, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Mae Dillaman; and two brothers, Clayton Dillaman and Edwin Dillaman.
The family expresses its thanks to everyone on Fig Street at Rolling Fields for the exceptional care.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
The funeral and committal service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alice McClymonds officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
