LONGMONT, Colo. — Regis Andrew Mika of Longmont, Colo., passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Born March 17, 1937, in McKeesport, to Selma Lyskava Mika and Stefan Bernard Mika, Regis is survived by his children, Jenny Mika Martenson (Roger), Ron Mika and Sandy Mika Swift (Padraic); and his grandchildren, Jack Padraic Swift and Samuel Mika Swift. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Shirley King, Jane McDermott and Dorothy Stewart; and brothers-in-law, Fred Tyers and Fred Stewart.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura Suzanne “Sue” Stewart Mika; his mother, Selma Lyskava Mika; father, Stefan Bernard Mika; sister, Jean Tyers; brother, Steve Mika; mother-in-law, Irene Shellito Stewart; father-in-law, Robert Stewart; sister-in-law, Joann Mika; and brothers-in-law, Phillip McDermott, Jim Stewart and Fred King.

He grew up in Linesville, graduated from Linesville High School in 1955 and attended Slippery Rock College. He married Laura Suzanne Stewart on June 28, 1958, and moved to Longmont in 1966. After a career of 25 years with IBM, he retired in 1992.

Regis loved to golf, travel and entertain. His greatest moments were spent with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his generous and kind ways, his wonderful sense of humor and living life to the fullest.

A memorial to celebrate both Regis and his lovely wife, Sue, will be held April 13 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont.

In lieu of flowers for both, memorial gifts can be made to TRU Community Care, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Lafayette, Colo. 80026. Arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary, Longmont.
