William (Bill) E. Hollabaugh

GREENVILLE — William (Bill) E. Hollabaugh, 78, of Greenville, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at White Cliff Nursing Home after a brief illness.

Born Sept. 8, 1934, in Meadville, he was the son of Homer and Clarabelle Wolfe Hollabaugh. He married Dorothy L. Mitch on Feb. 14, 1952, and they were married for 46 years until she died on April 28, 1998. He recently married Kathryn Gribble on Sept. 24, 2011, and she survives.

He was a heavy equipment operator out of the Local 66 Union Hall and also owned and operated Hollabaugh Logging and Clearing with his two sons.

He was a member of Canal Wesleyan Methodist Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing and practical jokes. But he was mostly known as a gentleman who enjoyed helping others.

In addition to his wife, Kathryn, he is survived by four daughters, Sharon Salamone and her husband, Charles, of Erie, Sandy Webber and her husband, David, of Cochranton, Sharlene Borgoyn and her husband, John, of Greenville, and Brenda Chisholm of Greenville; three sons, William (Bill) Hollabaugh Jr. and his wife, Vicki, of Cochranton, Homer Hollabaugh and his wife, Teresa, of Franklin, and David Hollabaugh and his wife, Barb, of Cochranton; grandchildren, Mrs. John Raun (Sharlene), Justin and Jesse Jackson, Sarina Borgoyn, Heather, Amy, Ryan, Debbie, Benjamin, Mark, Tyler, Kailyn, Brian, Shane, Cody, Trevor and Brandon Hollabaugh, Buddy Rohrbach and Kristy Browning; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and James.

Friends may call at Dickson Family Funeral Home, Inc., 123 S. Franklin St. Cochranton, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral will be at  11 a.m. Friday at Canal Wesleyan Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Cope officiating.

Interment will be in Peters Cemetery.

The family ask that memorials be made to the Canal Wesleyan Methodist Church Building Fund, 160 Deckards Run Road, Utica, Pa. 16362.
