CANFIELD, Ohio —
Donald E. Davis Sr., 77, of 3234 42nd St., Canfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly after having suffered a heart attack at his residence on Monday evening, March 18, 2013.
Born on May 3, 1935, in Youngstown, Ohio, Donald was a son of the late Thomas and Bertha E. Clark Davis. On Nov. 2, 1957, he married the former Joyce A. Priddy, who survives.
He had been employed by the railroad, beginning with the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and subsequently with Conrail from which he had retired as an engineer. Donald had served proudly with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951 through 1957 and had attained the rank of airman first class. During this time, he had flown many missions on the B-36 and the B-52.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by a son, Donald E. Davis Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Boardman, Ohio; three daughters, Sherrie G. Christofil and her husband, Robert, of Boardman, Dolores Mobley and her husband, Tim, of Boardman, and Dawn Marie Ennen and her husband, Dan of Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters, Donna Stone and her husband, Carl, of Meadville, Leahann Putnam of Hubbard, Ohio, and Dana Michaels of Eustis, Fla.; two brothers, David Young and his wife, Marge, of Springboro, and Duane Young and his wife, Geri, of Meadville; six grandchildren, Matthew Moschella, Cody Davis, Tyler Mobley, Katie Mobley, TJ Ennen and Mason Ennen; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dolores Varkonda.
Friends are invited to attend the service which will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Smith Memorial Chapel at Stevenson Cemetery, 1561 Methodist Road, Greenville.
