WHITE OAK —
Guilio (Gino) Filotei, 79, of White Oak Borough and Espyville, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, with his family by his side at his daughter’s home in White Oak.
He was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Arquata Del Tronto, Italy, a son of the late Ortenzio and Chiara Piciachia Filotei. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, June L. Funk Filotei.
Gino was a member of St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak and St. Philip’s in Linesville. He was a retired employee of Edward L. Kemp Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Armored Division, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 701 and 0462 and he was a life member of White Oak Volunteer Fire Company 1.
Gino is survived by a daughter, Lisa Johns of White Oak; sons, Timothy (Barbara) of St. Cloud, Fla., David of Shelby Township, Mich., and Alfred (Tammy) Filotei of White Oak; eight grandchildren, Dana Jenkins, Erin and Lauren Johns, Ashley, Ryan and Brandon Filotei and Amanda and Emily Filotei; and pets, Bella and Sam Cat.
Friends and family may call on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at William H. Craig Funeral Home Inc., 3000 Versailles Ave., McKeesport, William C. Craig owner/supervisor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Angela Merici Church with Father Stephen Chervenak as celebrant.
Entombment will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family requests contributions be made to Forbes Hospice, 4800 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15224.
