MEADVILLE — Marion G. Kasan, 80, of Meadville, passed over to the Lord’s arms on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Ford City, July 17, 1930, a daughter of William and Marion Goodwin Baillie. She married Joseph P. Kasan Jan. 19, 1952, and he survives.

She grew up in Ford City and attended the Ford City schools. She retired from Heatrex in Meadville in 1985 after 10 years of service.

She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church.

She was a wonderful devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent homemaker and an exceptional cook.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband, Joseph, of 58 years, include three children, Paula Kasan of Meadville, Steven Kasan and Judy of Franklinville, N.C., and Marion Antwine (Wilbur) of Meadville; two sisters, Barbara (Babs) Goyda of Ford City and Margaret Smith-Stec of Mentor, Ohio; a brother, Paul Baillie of Ford City; four grandchildren, Joseph Kasan, Suzanne Rubner, Matthew Antwine and Dustin Kasan; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Baillie, Neil Baillie and William Baillie Jr.; and a sister, Esther Toy.

Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Father Ray Gramata as celebrant.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
