LINESVILLE —
William C. Weaver Sr., 72, of Linesville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at his residence.
Born Oct. 24, 1940, in Cooperstown, he was a son of Charles and Anna Rough Weaver. He married Joan Thompson on May 6, 1967.
He served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1963 until he was honorable discharged in 1967. After his service in the Navy, he worked on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. He then worked as an operator for Detrex Chemical Corp. in Ashtabula, Ohio, and retired in 2003.
William was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Fallowfield Lodge 1128, in Atlantic. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Joan Weaver; his mother, Anna Weaver of Atlantic; two sons, William Weaver Jr. of Linesville and James Weaver and his wife, Linda, of Lincolnton, N.C.; a daughter, Dawn Corey and her husband, Jameson, of Meadville; five grandchildren, Kyle Corey, Anya Corey, Lindsey Weaver, Joshua Weaver and Rachael Weaver; two sisters, Sara Baum and her husband, Kenneth, of Atlantic, and Marguerite Ferry and her husband, Carl, of North Carolina; a brother, Gerald Weaver and his wife, Patricia, of Atlantic; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Weaver; three brothers, Charles, Robert and Joseph Weaver; and three sisters, Frances Andell, Shirley Swartz and Mary Armour.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Gears of Andover Christian Church officiating.
Burial will be private in Penn Line Cemetery in Conneaut Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Penn Line Cemetery, 18011 Phelps Road, Linesville, Pa. 16424.
