JAMESTOWN —
Maxine L. Cooper Leary, 87, of 310 Liberty St., Jamestown, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at 5:25 a.m. at St. Paul Homes, Greenville, Mercer County.
She was born Feb. 7, 1925, in Greenville, a daughter of Arthur John Cooper and Helen Jane Lenhart Cooper. She married Robert E. Leary on May 4, 1946. He passed away Sept. 20, 2000.
Maxine worked during World War II unloading coal for the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad in Greenville. She was a clerk at the post office in Jamestown, retiring after 35 years. After retirement, she worked at Jamestown Pharmacy.
She was a former member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and was a choir member for 50 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs. She was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Leary of Jamestown, and Sally Courtney and her husband, Jim, of Atlantic; a son, Robb Leary and his wife, Arnelle, of Greenville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Cooper and his wife, Dora, of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Beatrice Moats and Janet Almes.
Calling hour will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Calvary Methodist Church, Greenville.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church, with Paul Mitchell, pastor of visitation, and Renny Domske of First Church of Christ, Greensburg, co-officiating.
Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.

Arrangements are under the direction of Randall Funeral Home, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
