CRANESVILLE —
Ruth Leona Davis, 88, of Cranesville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at home.
She was born in Springboro on June 4, 1924, daughter of the late Robert and Ora Barnes Lowry.
Leona was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Albion and the Albion Curlitt Club. She enjoyed reading, writing, gardening, photography, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She graduated from Springboro High School where she sang, played the violin and played basketball. She then attended Erie Business College. Leona worked as a secretary for Talon in Meadville, the Albion School Tax Office and she was a Girl Scout leader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lee F. Davis, in 2008.
Survivors include her son, David Davis and his wife, Sandra, of Edinboro; two daughters, Sharon Morava and her husband, Mark, of Moon Township, and Bonnie Davis of Moon Township; an AFS son, Knut Kise and his wife, Pan, of Norway; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be at Mattera Funeral Home, 188 E. State St., Albion, on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by a funeral service there at 3 p.m.
Burial will be in Spring Cemetery, Springboro.
