KANE —
Charles E. Rolfe Jr., 57, of 17262 Kevin Drive, Meadville, formerly of Kane, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.
Born Nov. 27, 1955, he was a son of Charles E. and Ann Zuzek Rolfe Sr. On Sept. 20, 1986, in Meadville, he married Kelly S. Weidow, who survives.
Charles was a State Police officer and was a corporal at the time of his retirement in 2010 at Meadville. He had also been stationed at various times at Clarion, Franklin, Washington and Mt. Jewett.
He belonged to the National Guard and was a member of the New Hope Community Church in Meadville and the East Kane Methodist Church. He also belonged to the Retired State Police Association and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Kelly, of 26 years, of Meadville and mother, Ann Rolfe of Kane, are two daughters, Sara Rebecca Rolfe and partner, Fawn Burt, and Vanessa Lee Ann Rolfe; grandchildren, Kalli, Aubrey, Paisley Jo and Vivian Marie; a sister, Barb (Scott) Nicholson of Kane; a brother, John (Michelle) Rolfe of Philadelphia; mother-in-law, Virginia Farnsworth Weidow of Kane; brothers-in-law, Rick (Zena) Weidow of South Bend, Ind., Todd (Cheryl) Weidow in Virginia and Tim (Tammy) Weidow of Kane; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Rolfe Sr.; and his father-in-law, David A. Weidow.
There will be two memorial services. Friends may attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday at East Kane Methodist Church, with the Rev. Brian Aul, pastor, officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church.
A second memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at New Hope Community Church, 11049 Hollis Road, Meadville, with Pastor Kenn Orndorff officiating. A dinner will be served prior to this service at the church.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335.
