MEADVILLE —
Betty M. Shelton, 87, formerly of Carlisle and a resident of Juniper Village, Meadville, passed away there Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013.
She was born Jan. 5, 1926 in Linesville, a daughter of Edward and Jessie Vickers Madigan. She married Raymond P. Shelton on Sept. 2, 1954, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1990.
Betty was a graduate of Linesville High School. She was a homemaker, enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader.
Survivors include a brother, Harry Madigan and his wife, Pauline, of Linesville; two nephews, Rodney Madigan and his wife, Janice, of Waterford, and Richard Madigan and his wife, Susie, of Enterprise, Ore.; and a niece, Jill Niemann and her husband, Frank, of Linesville.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Madigan; and a sister, Dorothy Bishop Blumenstein.
Per Betty’s wishes, there are no services planned.
Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, next to her husband.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
