SAEGERTOWN —
E. Geraldine (Gerry) Perry, 87, of Saegertown, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Crawford County Care Center.
She was born April 6, 1925, in Meadville, a daughter of Calvin Shorts and Treva Walton Shorts. She married L.G. Perry on Aug. 24, 1956; he preceded her in death March 29, 2008.
She was a graduate of Meadville Area High School and worked at Erie Lackawanna Railroad/Conrail for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1984.
Geraldine enjoyed golfing, reading, crossword puzzles, fishing and knitting.
She was a member of Allida Smith Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Geraldine is survived by a daughter, Chris Kaelin of Saegertown; two grandchildren, Jeff Kaelin and his fiancee, Michelle Brooks, of Hixson, Tenn., and Barb Altizer and her husband, Jamie, of Pinkney, Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Elissabeth Kaelin of California and Alexis Altizer of Pinkney; a brother, Edward Shorts and his wife, Bea, of Saegertown; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Violet Jennes.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral and committal service will be on Friday at 10 a.m., with Pastor William R. Peak of Allida Smith Wesleyan Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow services in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
