Rose Pauline Repko

MEADVILLE —

Rose Pauline Repko, 88, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, formerly of 216 Chestnut St., Meadville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville.

Rose was born in Warnock, Ohio, on Aug. 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Ulan Kotson. On Jan. 6, 1945, Rose married Jacob Repko; he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2000.

She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Rose had been employed by the former Win Tronics of Meadville. She had previously been employed by Saegertown Manufacturing and the former Cottage Restaurant. She graduated from high school in Ohio.

Rose was a member of the Meadville Eagles Club and the Italian Civic Club (ICC). In her earlier years, she enjoyed making crafts, especially ceramics. Her hobbies included fishing and gardening as she was known to have a green thumb.

Rose is survived by six children, Frank Repko and his wife, Linda, of Saegertown, Carol Scyoc and her husband, David, of Lansing, Mich., Paul Repko and his wife, Martha, of Guys Mills, John Repko and his wife, Margaret, of Meadville, John’s twin sister, Jane Welcheck and her husband, Jack, of Conneautville, and Thomas Repko and his wife, Penelope, of Dallas, Ore.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clara O’Neil and her husband, Harold, of Rosewell, N.M., and Mary of Baltimore; a very close companion, Robert Larry King of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews throughout Baltimore and West Virginia.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Jacob, of 55 years, Rose was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a scripture service will be conducted at 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Father Matthew Kujawinski, pastor of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, as celebrant.

Interment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.
