Charles Allen Johnson



SAEGERTOWN — Charles Allen Johnson, 75, a resident of Crawford County Care Center, 16871 Craig Road, Saegertown, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center after a brief illness.

Charlie was born in Titusville on Oct. 21, 1933, the second son of the late Harry and Nellie Sutton Johnson.

Charlie had been employed by Cytemp and later as a mechanic by Cyclops Steel of Titusville. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Charlie served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict as a military policeman in Germany. Following his high school graduation from Tidioute Area High School, Charlie was employed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

An outdoorsman all of his life, Charlie loved to hunt, fish and care for wild birds.

Charlie is survived by three daughters, Lisa, Sharon and Mary Beth; a sister, Carolle Maust of Langhorne; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael; a sister, Eleanor Fenner; and two brothers, James and Ralph Johnson.

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation.

Private services are being planned by his sister.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
