PLANO, Texas — David Callen Martinez Jr. of Plano, Texas, beloved son of Roxie Callen Lara and Esteban Lara, went to be with his Lord, Jesus, on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009.
He is survived by brothers, Jose E.C. Lara and Aldo Rafeal Lara; grandmothers, Wanita Callen of Titusville and Maria Isabel Lara of El Salvador, C.A.; Celia Martinez and family of Monterrey, Mexico; Bradley David Callen of Titusville, Roman Ramirez, Joaquin Soto, Federico Soto and Mariana Soto.
David attended Plano East Senior High, graduating in 1997. While in school he was a tuba player in the school band, a member of the ROTC and a Boy Scout with Troop 253. He also participated in the Civil Air Patrol. In his later years, he worked and played piano. David was a member of First United Methodist Church of Plano, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William E. Callen and Jose Esteban Lara.
Visitation was Monday at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th St., Plano, and his funeral is today at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Dave Gonzalez officiating.
Burial will immediately follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
