Helen M. Poweski Miller



CONNEAUTVILLE — Helen M. Poweski Miller, 84, of Conneautville, passed away at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009.

She was born in Campbell, Ohio, on May 17, 1925, a daughter of the late Frank and Helena Sokal Poweski. On Oct. 16, 1948, she married Lamonte Miller and he preceded her in death May 12, 1999.

She retired from Ohio Rubber of Conneautville after 44 years of service.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church of Conneautville.

Helen was a great cook, loved to garden, collect swans, play cards and bingo, but her greatest love was her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Mitchell and friend, Frank Weber, whose home she most recently resided at, of Conneaut Lake; two sons, Larry Miller and his wife, Colleen, of Springboro, and Ken Miller and his wife, Sue, of Meadville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Vargon of Aliquippa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamonte; twin brothers, Andy and Tony Poweski; and a sister, Jenny Pacak.

Friends may call on Wednesday at White-Cool Funeral Home, 1405 Main St., Conneautville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, 501 Washington St., Conneautville, on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Church, PO Box F, Conneautville, Pa. 16406; or Lakeland Valley Senior Center, 209 S. Pymatuning St., Linesville, Pa. 16424.
