Josephine C. Sharkins

CONNEAUT LAKE — Josephine C. Sharkins, 75, of 12307 Walnut Drive, Conneaut Lake, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1934, in New Kensington, a daughter of the late George and Amber Reuter Sharkins.

She attended Mercy Nursing School in Pittsburgh in l954, received a bachelor’s degree in l973 from Slippery Rock University and a master’s degree from Gannon University in l986.

She had been employed as a registered nurse at Spencer Hospital and then Meadville Medical Center for 20 years. She had also worked at PHILCO Insurance Co. as a surveyor in the risk management department.

She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed listening to music and spending time with her friends.

Surviving is a son, Frank G. Lubresky and his wife, Gerri, of Erie; a daughter, Nancy J. Peters of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Katie Lubresky of Saegertown; a son, Andy J. Lubresky and his wife, Angela, of Snohomish, Wash., a daughter, Maryanne Baker of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Rosemarie Ames and her husband, Robert, of West Palm, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildchildren; a sister, Nancy Fisher of Cheswick; and a brother, George S. Sharkins of Arnold, Md.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Frank A. Lubresky.

Calling hours will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Rusnak of Aseracare Hospice officiating.

Burial will be in Denny Cemetery.
