Marcella D. Yuhasz

NEWTON, Mass. — Marcella D. Yuhasz, 67, of Newton, Mass., passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital after a brave battle with cancer.

She was born April 7, 1942, in Meadville, a daughter of James Conrad Fisher and Irene Ososki Fisher.

She graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School in the class of 1960 and worked as an aide at Spencer Hospital in Meadville. After raising her two children and owning a tree nursery for many years, she went back to school in 1996 to complete the Licensed Practical Nursing program at Venango County Vocational-Technical School. She worked as an LPN at Wesbury Methodist Home and then at Polk Center State Hospital until her retirement. Recently, she moved to Newton from Pennsylvania to be closer to her loving grandson, Grey, daughter, Amy, and son-in law, Paul.

She had a love for animals, the outdoors and her family. She enjoyed her cat, Rusty, refinishing furniture, flower gardening, reading and spending time with her grandson.

Surviving are two daughters, Amy Yuhasz and her husband, Paul Tiemann, of Newton; and Andrea Buckley and her husband, Douglas, of Polk; and a grandchild, Grey Tiemann of Newton. Survivors also include a sister, Margaret MacDonald and her husband, Collin, of Round Hill, Va.; several nieces and nephews, and many dear cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; and sister, Rose Bugge.

A memorial service will be conducted at Hartle Funeral Home, Franklin, at 11 a.m. Friday.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Kirtland Cancer Foundation, PO Box 108, Franklin, Pa. 16323.
