GUYS MILLS — Carol L. Koontz, 57, of Hickory Corners Road, Guys Mills, died at 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center.
Mrs. Koontz was born on Dec. 1, 1951, in Pittsburgh, to her mother, Ethel Grose.
She graduated high school in the Pittsburgh area.
Mrs. Koontz was previously employed as a surgical technician at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. Since moving to Guys Mills, she has worked as a secretary for the past seven years at Guys Mills United Evangelical Free Church.
She was a member of the Relationship and Care Team, Love Inc., and Discipleship Team. She also loved birds, being outdoors, going to church and singing in the church choir.
Mrs. Koontz is survived by a son, Nathan Koontz and his wife, Jaime, of Linesville; a daughter, Nicole Koontz of Hartstown; and a brother, Gary Grose and his companion, Dorothy Benoit, of Pittsburgh.
Family and friends may call at Guys Mills United Evangelical Free Church, 11534 State Highway 198, on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. with the funeral to follow, conducted by Pastor David Coddington.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville.
