Dorothy M. Jerome



LINESVILLE — Dorothy M. Jerome, 84, of Linesville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at her residence.

Born March 2, 1925 in Girard, Ohio, she was a daughter of Harold and Ina Knierman Davis. She married Robert J. Jerome on July 17, 1945, in Las Vegas, Nev.; he preceded her in death on July 17, 1980.

She was a member of the Linesville United Methodist Church.

She worked at the Conneaut Lake Park Golf Course for many years. She also worked for several years as a teachers aide at Alice Schafer Elementary School in Linesville.

She enjoyed reading, watching sports and playing cards.

Survivors include a daughter, Terry Fera and her husband, Anthony, of Youngsville; two sons, Jerry D. Jerome and his wife, Eva, of Erie, and Robert U. Jerome and his wife, Glenda, of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren, Jacki, Jerry, T.J., Amanda and Janice; a great-granddaughter, Katie; a great-great-granddaughter, Alayna; a sister, Violet Keefer and her husband, Clyde, of Linesville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Diane Funyak; and a sister, Viola Faxel.

As per her wishes, cremation was chosen.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville, with the Rev. Jim Tubbs of Linesville United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Linesville Community Public Library, PO Box 97, or to the Linesville United Methodist Church, PO Box 86, both of Linesville, Pa. 16424.
