Annabelle Gable



Annabelle Gable, 85, of 964 D St., Meadville, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Golden Living Center, Meadville.

She was born Feb. 13, 1924, in Meadville, a daughter of the late Delbert and Sarah Brady Gable.

Annabelle attended Meadville Public Schools and was employed at Meadville Malleable Iron for more than 30 years.

In her younger years, she was an active member of the Salvation Army, Meadville. She resided with her parents for many years and acted as their caregiver. She enjoyed baking.

Survivors include three sisters, Margaret Benak of Meadville, Dorothy Hargenrader and her husband, Don, of Guys Mills, and Ethel Luzier of Guys Mills; two brothers, Arthur Gable and his wife, Nancy, of Meadville, and Edward Gable and his wife, Lucille, of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews including her beloved niece, Linda Luzier of Meadville, who was her caregiver for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Popovich and Kathern Clark; and four brothers, Albert, James, Harold and Charles Gable.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Maj. L. Garth Faulds, Salvation Army, officiating.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 1087 Park Ave., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
