Louise M. Sutliff



Louise M. Sutliff, 81, of Park Avenue Extension, Meadville, died at home following an extended period of declining health on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009.

She was born in Meadville Feb. 26, 1928, a daughter of the late Elmer E. and Sadie Jane Bailey Burge. She married Richard A. Sutliff June 12, 1949.

She was a homemaker and had worked at Quality Markets in Meadville.

She was a member of New Beginnings Church of God. She was a former member of Vernon Grange 936, Pomona Grange 26, the Pennsylvania State Grange and the National Grange. She was a charter member and past president of the Woodcock Township Ladies and past president of the Crawford County Federation of Democratic Women. She enjoyed floral arranging, traveling, in which she visited all 48 continental states, and especially her family.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Richard, of 60 years, include three daughters, Trudith A. (Trudy) Cooper and her husband, Jim, of Meadville, Melody S. Lazeski and her husband, Wilford, of Saegertown, and Heather M. Stratton and her husband, George, of Cambridge Springs; five granddaughters, Brandy Lydic and her husband, L.J., Krissy Stern, Kelly Morton and her husband, Chad, Tiffany Lazeski and Louise Lilley; and three great-grandsons, Donovan Harney, Landon Harney and Braydon Morton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Sutliff.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Ferraro, pastor of New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335; or Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
