Charles W. Gable



Charles W. Gable, 94, of 964 D St., Meadville, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Golden Living Center, Meadville.

He was born Feb. 17, 1914, in Vernon Township, Crawford County, a son of Delbert and Sarah Brady Gable.

He worked as a handyman in the Meadville area and enjoyed bingo and fishing.

Survivors include four sisters, Margaret Benak of Meadville, Annabelle Gable of Meadville, Dorothy Hargenrater and her husband, Don, of Guys Mills, and Ethel Luzier of Guys Mills; two brothers, Edward Gable and his wife, Lucille, of Meadville, and Arthur Gable and his wife, Nancy, of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Popovich and Katherine Clark; and three brothers, Albert Gable, James Gable and Harold Gable.

Calling hour will be Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc., 581 Chestnut S., Meadville. The funeral follows at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald H. Murphy officiating.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
