Maurice C. Campbell



LINESVILLE — Maurice C. Campbell, 94, of Linesville, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born June 10, 1915, in Conneaut Township, he was a son of Fenn C. and Manie Gilliland Campbell. He married Margaret V. Lamb on June 3, 1939, in Beaver Township; she preceded him in death on Dec. 2, 2005.

Maurice was a member of Linesville United Methodist Church.

He was 1933 graduate of Linesville High School. For more than 40 years, he worked at Talon Inc. in Meadville and retired in 1980. Also, he engaged in defense work during World War II and spent his life farming.

He was a member of the Linesville Historical Society and a former member of the Center Road Grange. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and local sports.

Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Campbell and his wife, Elizabeth, of Russell, Ohio, and Robert C. Campbell and his wife, Karen, of Columbiana, Ohio, and their three sons, Nathan Campbell and his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Ethan and Jillian-Ava of Seville, Ohio, Matthew Campbell and his wife, Joni, of Columbiana, and Robert Campbell and his wife, Colleen, and their daughter, Katherin, of Columbiana; a sister, Mildred Mitchell of Linesville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret V. Campbell; his parents; a brother, Wilbur C. Campbell; and two sisters, Edith Rudler and Marion Roth.

Calling hours will be Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

The funeral will follow the calling hours on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joy Blackburn of Linesville United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Linesville Historical Society, PO Box 785, Linesville, Pa., the Linesville Cemetery Association, PO Box 215, Linesville, Pa., the Linesville United Methodist Church, PO Box 86, Linesville, Pa. 16424, or to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
