SANFORD N.C. — Ronald Frederick Hiles, 56, of Sanford, N.C., died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Central Carolina Hospital.
Born in Crawford County, Mr. Hiles was a son of the late George Elmer Hiles and Mary Josephine Consider Hiles.
He was retired from the U.S. Army. Mr. Hiles formerly worked as a real estate broker.
Surviving is a son, Ron G. Hiles of Olean, N.Y.; a daughter, Amanda Hiles of Conneaut Lake; two sisters, Victoria Sellers and her husband, Gerald, of Sanford, and Mary Knight and her husband, James, of Sanford; and a brother, David E. Hiles and his wife, Lorraine, of Seattle, Wash. Mr. Hiles is also survived by two grandchildren, seven nieces and nephews, and six great-nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lemon Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
