Gary L. Larcom

Gary L. Larcom, 62, of Meadville, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center.

Born March 15, 1947, in Meadville, he was a son of Philip A. Larcom and Rae S. Still Larcom.

He was a 1965 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School, where he played football. He worked at Talon for a few years as a set-up man, then worked at PPG in Meadville for several years, transferring to PPG Research Center in Harmarville, servicing robots for PPG plants all over the country and Mexico. He then retired after 30 years.

He liked antiques and antique cars; liked watching sports, especially the Steelers, and enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his father, Philip Larcom of Meadville; two daughters, Shelly Larcom of Natrona Heights, and Stacy Meckler and her husband, Jesse, of Gibsonia; two grandchildren, Jessie and Luke Meckler of Gibsonia; four cousins, Lyndon Larcom of Clemson S.C., Charles Larcom and his wife, Lula, of Savannah, Ga., David Larcom and his wife, Jane, of Hamburg, N.Y., and Michael Larcom of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and infant brother, Brian.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville. Cremation will take place in the funeral home’s crematory.
