COCHRANTON — Thomas H. Copeland, 56, of 16946 Staff Ave., Cochranton (Greenwood Township), passed away at 3:05 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville.
Thomas was born in Meadville on Aug. 23, 1953, a son of the late Richard H. and Shirley J. Trevethan Copeland. He was a 1971 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School, following which he went on to serve with the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1976. He had been employed at the former Rusco Plant in Greenwood Township, following which he did construction work until his having become disabled. Tom enjoyed and appreciated his many friends and socializing with them and was known for his practical jokes. He was a social member of Vernon Central Hose Company, Meadville.
He is survived by two sisters, Diane Arbuckle and her husband, Rick, of Greenville, and Kathy Briggs and her husband, Robert, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; two brothers, David Copeland of Greenville and Robert Copeland of Conneaut Lake; and several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Daniel Terry Copeland.
A Service of Remembrance will be conducted at 2 p.m. on March 27 at Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home Ltd., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville, with the Rev. Steven Lamb, pastor of Sheakleyville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Inurnment will be at Anderson Cemetery, Greenwood Township.
