Linesville Area

Magisterial District Justice

- Kent W. Hawthorne, 62, of 6182 U.S. Highway 6, Apt., 4, Linesville, pleaded guilty before Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood to a charge of written false statements. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charge for an incident Oct. 28, 2009. A charge of providing false information for firearms ownership was withdrawn by police. Hawthorne was ordered to pay a fine $500 and costs of $153.50.



Titusville Area

Magisterial District Justice

- Anna Phillips, 29, of 10138 Fauncetown Road, Guys Mills, waived her right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Amy Nicols and was bound over to the next term of court on charges of two counts of forgery, and three counts each of access device fraud, identity theft and theft by deception. Titusville Police filed the charges for an incident Aug. 22 in Titusville. Phillips also waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts each of access device fraud and theft by unlawful taking and one count of theft of property lost, mislaid or delivered by mistake. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident Aug. 22 in Titusville. Phillips was released on her own recognizance on all charges.

- Clayton J. Lee, 20, of 19664 Vrooman Road, Spartansburg, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Jan. 14 on Pennsylvania State Police charges of two counts of driving under the influence, one count of underage drinking and three summary traffic offenses for an incident Oct. 31, 2009, and was released on his own recognizance.



Vernon Area

Magisterial District Judge

- Sara M. Barnes, 24, of 933 Park Ave., Apt., 2, Meadville, waive her right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rossi and was bound over to the next term of court on a charge of retail theft. Vernon Township Police filed the charge for an incident Nov. 25 at Giant Eagle. Barnes was released on her own recognizance.

n Jeremiah J. Ibbs, 32, of 1179 Hendersonville, Sandy Lake, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Jan. 14 on Cochranton Police Department charges of two counts of driving under the influence and one summary traffic offense for an incident Nov. 29, 2009, and was released on his own recognizance.

- William E. Brewer Jr., 48, of 138 N. Franklin St., Cochranton, was bound over to the next term of court Jan. 14 on a Cochranton police charge of one count of selling/furnishing alcohol to minors for an incident Oct. 11, 2009, and was released on his own recognizance.



Crashes

State Police

- Two women were injured in a pre-dawn head-on crash involving two vehicles on Route 322 in Vernon Township Friday. Kimberly Mbewe, 35, of Conneaut Lake was driving west at 5:41 a.m. when her auto crossed three lanes of traffic and struck an eastbound van driven by Lynda Brocklehurst, 46, of Conneaut Lake. Both drivers were taken to Meadville Medical Center. Both were released after treatment, a nursing supervisor said. Police didn’t indicate if the drivers were wearing seatbelts. Charges are pending against Mbewe, according to police.

- Courtney McBride, 27, of State Highway 173, Cochranton, was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Route 173 in Wayne Township early Sunday morning. McBride was driving north at 3:30 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle for unspecified reasons. It went off the road, down an embankment, up a small hill and then rolled over once. McBride was wearing a seatbelt. She was released after treatment at Meadville Medical Center. Charges are pending, according to police.
