Magisterial District Judge

- Marjorie L. Shoemaker, 27, of 18200 Turner Road, Meadville, waived her right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge William Chisholm and was bound over to the next term of court on a charge of theft by unlawful taking. Meadville Police Department filed the charge for an incident from December 2009 through April 2010. She was released on her own recognizance.



Crashes

State Police

-There were minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at Grant and Erie streets in Saegertown at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday. Gay S. Hilton, 59, of Meadville, was driving north on Grant Street, stopped at the intersection with Erie Street. Hilton drove out into the intersection and collided with a truck driven by John D. Heilman, 46, of Cambridge Springs that was driving on Erie Street. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Hilton was taken to Meadville Medical Center for minor injuries. Heilman wasn’t injured.



Crashes

Vernon Township Police

- On May 22 at about 1:30 p.m., Carrie Stone of Franklin was eastbound on State Route 6 and, according to witnesses, ran a red light and her vehicle collided with a Dodge truck driven by Christopher Wood of Corry, who was westbound and attempting to turn left onto Shaw Avenue. Neither operator reported injuries. Traffic was congested on Route 6 westbound due to the right lane being shut down until both vehicles were removed from the roadway.



Crimes

State Police

- A 36-year-old male stomped on the foot of a 39-year-old female while trying to take a cell phone from her during an incident that took place shortly before 1 a.m. on May 22 at a residence on Grove Road in Randolph Township.

- A 41-year-old female resident of Guys Mills was helping prepare for a wedding reception at West Mead No. 2 Fire Station on Ryan Road on May 21 when a 42-year-old male, also a resident of Guys Mills, arrived at the scene and began to argue with the female. The male is accused of pushing the female into a wall, causing a small scratch on the chin of the victim and a bruise on the victim’s right elbow.
