Bill Stevenson has been hired as the head girls basketball coach at the new Conneaut Area Senior High School, athletic director Brandon Crum announced this week.
Stevenson was hired by Conneaut School District Superintendent Jarrin Sperry, who was granted the power to hire coaches by the Conneaut School Board.
“We’re really excited to have Bill,” said Crum. “He’s a good teacher, a good coach, a positive role model.”
Stevenson previously spent the past seven seasons as the head girls basketball coach at Linesville High School. During that time, he racked up a career record of 92-69 (57.1 percent) and has led the team to two region championships.
Stevenson joins football coach Pat Gould, boys basketball coach Bob Leupold and girls volleyball coach Tim Schleicher as new hires in the Eagles athletics department.
The athletics staff also includes a number of coaches that had previously coached in cooperative programs with Conneaut School District. They include boys soccer coach Brian Kebort, girls soccer coach Alan Wise, golf coach Bob Slevin, wrestling coach Tom Courtney and boys volleyball coach John Chapman.
According to Crum, interviews for CASH’s head cross country coach are currently being conducted. The head baseball and head softball coaching positions haven’t been posted yet, with the season ending only recently.
